About the role
- Job Description Montgomery College is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and student-centered leader to serve as the Strategic Student Success Initiatives Director.
- This is a full-time, non-bargaining, exempt, Grade 33 position.
- A typical work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening or weekend flex hours.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the development, management, and evaluation of strategic partnerships, memoranda of understanding (MOUs), and grant-funded initiatives that expand student access to social support resources.
- Coordinates collegewide efforts to strengthen wraparound supports, including food security programs, emergency assistance, basic needs initiatives, and other social support resources.
- Works collaboratively with Counseling and Advising, Academic Affairs, and external partners to develop and coordinate programs and services that promote student well-being and success.
- Leads the development and coordination of programs supporting parenting students, ensuring services are responsive to student needs and aligned with institutional priorities.
- Works closely with Institutional Research and Effectiveness and divisional leadership to develop and implement assessment strategies, performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
- Coordinates communication and collaboration across campus partners to strengthen alignment and effective delivery of student support services.
- Supports grant development, implementation, compliance, and reporting related to student success initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).

- Knowledge of project management, assessment practices, and data analytics.
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

- Experience with grants management, strategic partnerships, program assessment, or project management is preferred.
Compensation
- The maximum salary for this position is $155,534 annually.
Benefits
- Coordinates the implementation and assessment of collegewide student success initiatives related to basic needs, mental health, parenting students, and other strategic priorities.
- Master's degree in higher education, public administration, social work, counseling, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs, student success, or a related area within higher education.
- Initial salary placement for new hires typically falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($88,876 - $122,205), annually and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity.
- Participation in a Maryland State Retirement System plan (Pension or Optional Retirement Plan, depending on the position).
- If you are already retired from the Maryland State Retirement System, you may not enroll in a Maryland State Retirement System plan at Montgomery College and may have earn ings restrictions, per state law.
- For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
