About the role
- The successful candidate will have a strong background in system's engineering and should exhibit exceptional communication and project management skills.
- Seven (7) years of related work experience in the fuel cell, automotive, electrochemical, or hybrid power train field
- Demonstrated aptitude for systems thinking and creative problem solving
Responsibilities
- The Senior Systems and Controls Engineer is responsible for providing systems engineering support and technical controls to support new and existing fuel cell systems.
- Develop system concepts and controls strategy for programs associated with product development, cost reductions and reliability improvements.
- Design and improve control algorithms and state machines to maximize fuel cell stack life and performance.
- Develop and verify design targets for fuel cells systems.
- Develop architectures for fuel cell systems conforming to the applicable codes and standards.
- Develop and execute system level design, testing and data analysis to meet various global industrial and transportation standards.
- Communicate consistently and effectively to all cross-functional team members as needed to ensure that design intent is understood, and questions are answered to move projects forward.
- Represent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactions; support the philosophy of the organization to provide high-performing technology to maximize customer satisfaction
Requirements
- This individual must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and be willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization.

- Must be driven and self-motivated with excellent follow through.
Nice to have

- Bachelor's degree in STEM required.
- Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Systems engineering degree preferred.
Skills
- Understanding and experience with coding languages preferred (Python, C, C++)
- Experience setting up and querying various data acquisition tools is preferred.
- Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Teamwork oriented and focused. Must be driven and self-motivated with excellent follow through.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
