About the role
- This role focuses on direct member engagement, enrollment conversations, same-day registration, and follow-through to care connection.
- This position reports to the Market Growth Manager.

Responsibilities
- We combine local, community-based teams with virtual care and modern technology to deliver coordinated, whole-person care where members live and receive support
- Member Acquisition Specialists are deployed strategically across community partner sites, referral locations, and Zócalo-hosted community events to maximize enrollment outcomes and member conversion.
- Success in this role is measured by enrollments, registration quality, conversion rates, follow-up execution, and the ability to build trust that results in members connecting to care.
- Drive same-day registrations and maximize conversion opportunities in the field
- Own weekly enrollment, registration, and conversion goals
- Maintain disciplined follow-up to move referrals and leads into enrolled members
- Support member retention and re-engagement efforts when appropriate
- Build trust quickly and effectively with community members
- Support execution of Zócalo-hosted events designed to generate enrollment opportunities
- Maintain flexibility to work in field-based environments, including evenings and weekends as needed
Requirements
- Bilingual English-Spanish required
- Experience with field outreach, enrollment support, canvassing, or community activation work
- Familiarity with local community resources and populations served
- You must be authorized to work in the United States.
- 1-3+ years of experience in community outreach, healthcare enrollment, public health, sales, canvassing, customer engagement, or field-based roles
- Comfortable initiating conversations and engaging community members in public settings
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently in field environments
- Comfortable using technology and documentation systems
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- A strong communicator who knows how to build trust quickly in diverse communities.
- Comfortable with field-based outreach and performance-driven environments.
- Experience with Medi-Cal, ECM, Community Supports, or community-based healthcare programs

- Experience working toward performance goals, outreach targets, or enrollment metrics preferred

- Role Description
- The Member Acquisition Specialist will contribute in the following ways:
- Enrollment & Conversion
- Conduct in-person outreach and enrollment conversations with eligible community members
- Guide individuals through registration, intake, and enrollment processes
- Identify and escalate barriers preventing enrollment or engagement
- Field Execution & Community Presence
- Execute enrollment activities at assigned partner sites, community locations, and outreach events
- Documentation & Operational Compliance
- Accurately complete registrations, documentation, and enrollment workflows across operational systems
