Patient services are the key priority in this position, requiring the MA to serve as a point of contact with other internal and external departments, all to foster an environment that promotes patient comfort and trust.
Prepares for patient visits by reviewing and updating patient records prior to face-to-face encounters and/or Virtual Visits, otherwise known as Telehealth.

Maintains exam rooms according to protocols: Cleans rooms between patient exams to ensure patients' comfort and compliance with infection control standards
This position performs various duties and responsibilities in a manner that emphasizes quality of care and customer service.

Ability to effectively communicate with patient population and staff while demonstrating a high degree of diplomacy and tact.
Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a high-stress and fast-moving environment.
Working knowledge of "Universal Precautions" always demonstrates professionalism.
Excellent communication skills at the level necessary for taking patients' medical histories, understanding provider and supervisor's instructions, and accurately documenting patients' medical information. Ability to effectively communicate with patient population and staff while demonstrating a high degree of diplomacy and tact.
Beginner to intermediate computing and phone skills.
Demonstrates flexibility regarding job duties and assignments.
Willingness to cross-train within other departments within your scope of duties.
Culturally sensitive and demonstrated ability and effectiveness working with ethnically diverse populations.
Thoroughly understand the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure according to the general standards set forth by HIPAA.

High school Graduate (or GED) required.
Current, valid CPR certification.
Bilingual English/Spanish and other languages strongly preferred.
Valid Texas Driver's License preferred, insurance, and ability to travel as required to perform duties.

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join the ASAS Health team!
Provides initial medical screening: Greets patients and directs them to the appropriate exam room.
Takes weight, height, temperature, blood pressure, and basic medical history
accurately documents in medical chart according to generally accepted medical standards.
Assists physician or mid-level providers upon request during the patient's examination according to generally accepted medical standards.
Excellent communication skills at the level necessary for taking patients' medical histories, understanding provider and supervisor's instructions, and accurately documenting patients' medical information.
