About the role

  • They ensure the machines are correctly set up, monitor the grinding process, and inspect finished products to ensure quality.
  • This position is on first shift and the hours are 5:45am - 2:15pm, Monday - Friday with opportunity for OT.

Responsibilities

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up, operate and maintain grinding machines.
  • Set up, operate and maintain manual Sunnen honing machines.
  • Setup, operate and maintain CNC honing machines Select diamond tooling/stones for the related honing machine.
  • Perform quality control checks on products.

Requirements

  • Required Skills/Attributes Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to operate a grinding machine.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • 1-3 years minimum related work experience or formal training Ability and experience operating and maintaining grinding machinery.
  • Strong communication skills Ability to follow instructions.
  • Physical Job Requirements Regularly required to stand and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.
  • Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
  • Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work.

Skills

  • A Grinder Operator operates industrial grinding machines to grind metal parts, tools, and other components.
  • Select grinding wheels and other related tools.
