About the role
- The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care within the clinic setting.
- The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and social workers within a prestigious academic medical center.
Responsibilities
- Psychiatric Assessment: Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams; identify physical, cognitive, and psychosocial findings to formulate accurate diagnoses.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and monitor pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans for psychiatric conditions, adjusting based on patient response and effectiveness.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain key regulatory requirements including CMS, Joint Commission, and institutional privileging standards.
- Practice in an independent, outpatient clinic with professional support from the Pediatric Ambulatory Division Administrator.
Requirements
- DEA registration (if required for the position)
- Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
- Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
- References will be required at an appropriate time in the process.

- Wisconsin RN License
- Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
- Certification Requirements
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
