Responsibilities

  • Opportunities to improve interpersonal skills may occur via interfaces with stakeholders and support groups across the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, our shipyards, and Naval Reactors Headquarters in Washington, DC.
  • The position will also require some travel to vendors and shipyards to support project planning, equipment testing and repair deployment.
  • The candidate will need to have or learn the ability to develop and interpret specifications, drawings, and engineering standards.
  • The candidate will be asked to lead/execute laboratory operations in a productive, timely, and compliant manner.
  • Should be able to help develop, test, evaluate, and eventually qualify repair procedures either in the laboratory or via vendors and shipyards.

Requirements

  • A DOE L Clearance (or DOD equivalent) is required to be considered for this position.
  • Applicant must be able to plan, follow, and execute work efforts, as well as conceive and produce technical designs, instructions and procedures.
  • Applicant must be able to plan and execute test programs, design experiments, analyze experimental results, and assist with the preparation of technical reports.
  • Candidates must have digital design/CAD skills, and preferably will also have familiarity with digital data acquisition hardware and software.
  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
