About the role
- Who you are Metropolis is seeking a Director, Assistant Controller to play a key leadership role in the execution of corporate accounting operations.
- The Assistant Controller is the executional builder - responsible for standing up core accounting processes, leading the close, and operationalizing the Controller's vision.
- This role is about turning strategy into scalable processes.
Responsibilities
- Own monthly/quarterly close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and scalability
- Design and implement new policies, controls, and workflows (GAAP/IFRS, revenue recognition, consolidations)
- Drive automation/AI adoption in reconciliations, reporting, and consolidation
- Build and mentor a growing accounting team, instilling accountability and high performance
- Work closely with cross-functional leads (Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Operations) to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy
- Comfortable with ambiguity and building from ground up

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and leveraging technology/automation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across cultures and geographies
- Experience leveraging AI tools to transform static workflows into responsive, high-output processes
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Compensation
- The anticipated base salary for this position is $180,000.00 USD to $225,000.00 USD annually.
