Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibilities of the job are to encourage alumni and friends to provide support to the School/University through their time, service, and monetary gifts.
  • While reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for University Advancement (or their designee), the Law School Development Officer will maintain direct communication with and support the efforts and initiatives of the Law School Dean as they relate to advancement efforts.

Requirements

  • Candidates with a law master's or JD degree are highly desirable.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier as this position requires travel.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required along with two years of experience working with people in fundraising, direct sales experience, business development experience, and/or activities where relationship building is essential, or other related business experiences. Candidates with a law master's or JD degree are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of digital communication channels and social media platforms to support outreach, engagement, and relationship-building initiatives.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Maintains effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Maintains a patient, respectful, and collaborative approach when working with others.

Compensation

  • Specifically, this position is responsible for ensuring the School's annual fund goal is met each fiscal year, the School's campaign goals are met and the School's major fundraising events are planned and orchestrated successfully.
