About the role

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following.
Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised: Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.
Notes to Candidate: The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative, and forward‑thinking leader with deep experience in large-scale transportation or capital infrastructure programs.

Ensures effective coordination and communication with City departments and partner agency staff, neighborhood associations, the general public, media, consultants, public agencies, or private sector representatives.
Knowledge of modern methods, techniques, and concepts as applied to the design and construction of public works projects.
Knowledge of design principles, techniques, and tools involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Ability to perform a broad range of supervisory responsibilities.
Ability to direct and evaluate personnel in the accomplishment of goals and objectives and demonstrated ability to manage priorities and workloads.
Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with City employees and the public.
Under the general direction of the Assistant City Manager of Mobility, this position is responsible for complex administrative assignments in support of the implementation of Project Connect, including collaboration and problem solving among many different stakeholders, coordination of document review and comment resolution, and review and approval of permits among many City departments.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative, and forward‑thinking leader with deep experience in large-scale transportation or capital infrastructure programs.
Strategic Mobility Expertise: Demonstrates deep understanding of multimodal transportation systems and applies that knowledge to advance Project Connect's long-term mobility goals.
Exercises Leadership: Ability to break down work silos, motivate, and bring teams together.
Proven ability to use appropriate judgment to handle critical, problematic, or a striking set of conditions with focus, ownership, and accountability.
Community Collaborator: Experience in presenting complex information and strategies to public stakeholders, City Manager's Office, Boards and Commissions, and City Council.
Politically Savvy: Ability to exhibit confidence and professional diplomacy, while effectively relating to people at all levels internally and externally.
