About the role
- Team player that can aid in the development of junior engineers and senior designers.
- Assignments require independent judgment and application of a non-routine, complex nature, under the supervision of the Director.
- Assignments shall include more variables and be more complex.
Responsibilities
- Motivated, self-starter that can independently lead a professional design team to provide general engineering services.
- Prepares due diligence studies, construction documents, bid documents, reports, technical specifications (MasterSpec and SpecsIntact), plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and permit applications for projects.
- Familiar with LEED principals and design elements pertaining to site civil items.
- Has a working knowledge of computer aided design drafting to produce designs into routine final drawings.
- Visits construction site to review, monitor, and report progress and perform other construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, attend construction site meetings, review RFI's, prepare ASI's, PR's, prepare status reports, per the contract documents.
- Perform checking of one's own work and work prepared by drafters, engineering designers and other engineers.
- Assist in preparing design budgets, marketing proposals and cost estimates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university and minimum of six years' experience in civil engineering
- Possess a Professional Engineering License in the State of Florida with the ability to obtain NCEES.
- Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
- The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work usually result from progressive experience.
- Experience with local and federal regulatory permitting agencies as necessary to support Design and Construction Documents.
- Must be proficient in the use of personal computers.
