- Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Sr.
- Claims Counsel, Lawyers Professional Liability in our North America Insurance Claims team.
Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of Professional Liability claims, primarily Lawyers Professional Liability matters, and make substantive claim decisions.
- Support underwriting and other internal teams through legal review, policy drafting, and cross-functional communication.
- Contribute to the Global Claims Team through collaboration on projects, industry engagement, complex claims support, and travel as needed.
- Meaningful legal review and policy drafting experience, with the ability to build strong working relationships across departments such as underwriting and actuarial.

Requirements
- Law degree required, with 3-7 years of progressively responsible experience in Lawyers Professional Liability claims handling or related litigation.
Nice to have
- Experience at both a law firm and an insurance carrier is preferred, along with pursuit of an insurance designation such as RPLU or CPCU.
Compensation
- $125,000 - $175,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
