Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Engineering Technician at Helion, you will lead the build, integration, and troubleshooting of complex electromechanical systems that support our fusion generators and pulsed power architecture.
  • You will drive execution across system builds while independently diagnosing issues and ensuring hardware meets performance, safety, and quality expectations.
  • You will operate at the interface of design engineering and production, translating evolving designs into executable builds by developing processes, tooling, and work instructions.
  • Your work enables rapid hardware iteration, improves first-pass yield, and establishes repeatable, scalable build practices.
  • This is a hands-on role reporting to the Production Supervisor and working closely with Design Engineers, Test Engineers, and Production leadership.
  • Lead assembly, integration, and bring-up of complex electromechanical systems, including full-system builds
  • Develop and standardize work instructions, build processes, and test procedures for repeatable execution
  • Partner closely with engineers during prototype development, supporting rapid iteration and real-time design changes
  • Design and fabricate fixtures, jigs, and test setups to improve build quality and efficiency
  • Drive root cause analysis on failures, implement corrective actions, and reduce recurrence of failures

Skills

  • Strong diagnostic capability using schematics, instrumentation, and signal tracing
  • Proficiency with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQ, etc.)
  • Experience working in prototype, R&D, or high-mix production environments
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex technical documentation at the bench
