About the role

  • Internship Summary: This position is Part Time up to 20 hours per week with an hourly wage of $14.00.
  • This student employment opportunity offers experience of daily operations in the field of fitness.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic office duties such as answering and directing telephone calls, assisting guests, correspondence, and maintaining both electronic and physical files.

Requirements

  • Must be a degree-seeking student at Bay Mills Community College.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits for the semester the paid internship/FWS will be awarded.
  • Must have attendance of 70% or higher in all classes.
  • Eligibility requirements must be met at the beginning of each semester.
  • Must have Satisfactory Academic Progress as defined in BMCC's Student Handbook:

  • Proof of tribal enrollment, if claiming preference.
  • A list of contact information and nature of professional relationship of at least three (3) professional references.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required to provide the highest level of guest service.
  • Strong computer application skills to include Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of or ability to learn basic office equipment.

  • Demonstrated personal integrity, sound judgment, and dependability.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while representing BMCC.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others, college and departmental committee experience preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
  • Knowledge or experience in working with Native Americans, in an educational setting preferred.

Compensation

  • I n accordance with the Clery Act, Bay Mills Community College's Annual Security Report is available at the Receptionist's desk in the Administration Building or the Accounting Department upon request.
