About the role
- Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining Towson University Hillel as the Engagement Associate.
Responsibilities
- Relationship Building & Student Outreach
- Build authentic, ongoing relationships with Jewish students from diverse cohorts and demographics through one-on-one conversations, small group engagements, tabling, and a warm presence at campus programs and events.
- Implement a consistent engagement strategy with students as follow up to program and event attendance to deepen their connection to the Hillel community.
- Support and champion student-initiated programs (including evenings, weekends, and Jewish holidays) to ensure they are welcoming and impactful.
- Manage program logistics including purchasing, inventory of supplies, and Hillel merchandise.
- Maintain accurate records of event attendance and student metrics in our tracking systems for ongoing evaluation and impact measurement.
- Great professional development, mentoring, and skill-building opportunities.
- Our suburban campus is located eight miles north of Baltimore, and about an hour drive from Washington, DC.
Requirements
- You will be responsible for expanding our ability to reach students where they are, supporting their engagement, and cultivating experiences that enrich their lives.
- The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, always knows how to make room at the table for a new face, and understands that engagement in Jewish life looks different for everyone.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- 0-3 years of work experience (such as internships, student leadership, camp counseling, or youth group involvement) is preferred.
Compensation
- Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace.
- The salary range for this role is $45,000 - $49,000.
- This position is available as a 10-month, 11-month,or 12-month role at a pro-rated salary.
