- About the Role The Environmental Engineer will lead environmental compliance and permitting for Torus's expanding manufacturing operations and field services organization.
- This role supports the introduction of new equipment and processes at our manufacturing facilities and ensures environmental compliance across the full project lifecycle in the field - construction, installation, commissioning, and ongoing monitoring of energy storage systems - in multiple states.
- You approach compliance with analytical rigor, utilizing data, emission inventories, and structured calculations to drive decisions.
- You are deeply motivated by the opportunity to build clean, resilient energy infrastructure that lasts.
- You take immense pride in ensuring that the processes used to build and deploy our systems are just as sustainable as the energy products themselves.
- Manage hazardous and universal waste programs, including waste characterization, accumulation area compliance, manifesting, vendor audits, and waste minimization initiatives.
- Programs, Reporting & Continuous Improvement Serve as a primary point of contact with environmental regulatory agencies; manage inspections, information requests, and agency relationships.
Requirements
- Develop and maintain facility environmental plans, including SPCC, SWPPP, and contingency/emergency response plans; conduct required inspections and training.
- Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
