About the role

They monitor the volume and quality of output and adjust tasks, timing, equipment set-up, or inputs so that production specifications are met, and resources are used efficiently.
They supervise staff to ensure that all production tasks are performed and that all machines and equipment operated in a safe manner.
They train new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards.

Supervises and manages heavy wall and light wall tank departments on first shift
Reviews engineering drawings and design packages for welding and ability, correcting mistakes as needed and providing feedback to Engineering department.
Develops and reviews capacity of workforce distribution
Creates production goals and ensures goals are met on-time. Communicates goals to production floor via flowcharts and personnel direction.
Selects areas that require 5S and implements changes
Develops and trains new hires
Implements process improvement techniques to enhance product flow

Team Lead, Welding and Fabrication

Associate Degree in Manufacturing Technology or similar field of study
significant applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
10+ years of experience in ASME Section VIII pressure vessel welding and fabrication
5+ years of experience in supervising or leading in a heavy metal fabrication environment
Advanced proficiency in welding processes including Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW)
Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot complex welding and fabrication drawings in accordance with ASME requirements
Exceptional knowledge of tank fabrication and assembly
Exceptional ability to pivot between tasks and needs as well as a strong ability to influence a team of direct reports
Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
