About the role

  • They monitor the volume and quality of output and adjust tasks, timing, equipment set-up, or inputs so that production specifications are met, and resources are used efficiently.
  • They supervise staff to ensure that all production tasks are performed and that all machines and equipment operated in a safe manner.
  • They train new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and manages heavy wall and light wall tank departments on first shift
  • Reviews engineering drawings and design packages for welding and ability, correcting mistakes as needed and providing feedback to Engineering department.
  • Develops and reviews capacity of workforce distribution
  • Creates production goals and ensures goals are met on-time. Communicates goals to production floor via flowcharts and personnel direction.
  • Selects areas that require 5S and implements changes
  • Develops and trains new hires
  • Implements process improvement techniques to enhance product flow

  • Team Lead, Welding and Fabrication

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Manufacturing Technology or similar field of study
  • significant applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • 10+ years of experience in ASME Section VIII pressure vessel welding and fabrication
  • 5+ years of experience in supervising or leading in a heavy metal fabrication environment
  • Advanced proficiency in welding processes including Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot complex welding and fabrication drawings in accordance with ASME requirements
  • Exceptional knowledge of tank fabrication and assembly
  • Exceptional ability to pivot between tasks and needs as well as a strong ability to influence a team of direct reports
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles

Compensation

  • $75,292 - $105,409 USD
