About the role

Capco is seeking an experienced Developer with Prompt Engineering to join our Technology & Engineering practice in Toronto on a contract basis (4 days per week).

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and modern software engineering best practices.
Develop and optimize prompts using Generative AI prompt engineering techniques to support enterprise AI solutions.
Build and integrate APIs and backend services that enable AI-powered applications.
Collaborate with architects, data specialists, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Contribute to technical design, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong commercial experience developing backend applications using Python.
Experience building RESTful APIs and scalable backend architectures.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within Agile delivery teams.

AI is used as a support tool only.

Hands-on experience with Prompt Engineering, including Generative AI prompt engineering techniques (essential).
Experience working with AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI solutions.
Experience within financial services or consulting environments.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience integrating AI or LLM-based capabilities into enterprise applications.

This is an existing vacancy supporting the delivery of innovative technology solutions for leading financial services clients.

The salary range for this position is listed below.
Additionally, this position may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary/variable bonus payment.
