About the role
- The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- This position is an evening shift position between the hours of 3p-11p or 4p-12am area.
- Responsibilities include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive patient care outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Implements current nursing practice following a comprehensive assessment and the plan of care.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse.
- The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand.
- Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program.
- Three years of nursing experience. Community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience is preferred.
- Currently licensed as an LPN/LVN in the State.
- Compliance with accepted professional standards and practice.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
- Understand the philosophy of the hospice concept. Also understands the needs of the terminally ill.
Nice to have
- Three years of nursing experience.
Skills
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
