About the role
- The nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) will work within the outpatient clinic setting alongside our General Hepatology Clinic faculty and staff at VUMC.
- This NP/PA will be expected to see patients independently as well as working alongside other MD's in providing care for our hepatology patients.
- The majority of patients seen will be return patients previously seen by one of the physician faculty..
Responsibilities
- Implements and modifies plan of care
- Maintains CEUs, and membership in a professional organization.
- Within scope of licensure and certification, manages previously diagnosed and undiagnosed patients.
- Provides patient/centered care recognizing the patient or designee as a full partner in decision making.
- Creates a climate of patient/centered care to include confidentiality privacy, comfort emotional support, mutual trust, and respect.
- Clearly documents findings, assessment and plan of care.
