About the role

The Sierra Club seeks an organizer to build on our already winning Utah Beyond Coal campaign; a grassroots movement to move the country beyond coal and towards healthy air and a clean energy future.
This organizer will be responsible for recruiting, engaging, and motivating volunteers to be leaders and for building powerful alliances to achieve our campaign goals in the state.

This organizer will be responsible for recruiting, engaging, and motivating volunteers to be leaders and for building powerful alliances to achieve our campaign goals in the state.
Candidates should be passionate about social justice, clean air and clean energy, have experience engaging and moving people to action, and be eager to build the Beyond Coal movement.

B.A./B.S. degree in Environmental Studies, Political Science or a closely related field.
Strong demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated public speaking ability.
Excellent knowledge and background in a specific issue area of the environmental field related to assigned programs and campaigns.
Prior experience and knowledge of either the legislative process or administrative process.
Demonstrated ability and effectiveness working with volunteers.
Extensive travel required.
Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and proof of auto insurance required.
