About the role
- The Aircraft Systems Engineer reports to the Director, Engineering, and is responsible for the technical accuracy and reliability of Atlas Air aircraft.
- Additional responsibilities include the Boeing 747 aircraft systems technical accuracy and reliability in the following ATA's- 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32, 33, 35, 36, 38, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55,56, and 57.
- Report on the status of projects and issues as directed.
Responsibilities
- Issue instructions (EO's) and documents to economically support operations and return aircraft to service in a safe, airworthy, and timely manner.
- Develop and/or obtain approved data, acceptable data, and Alternate Methods of Compliance (AMOCs) for repairs, alterations, and modifications.
- Update technical source documents as applicable to ensure accuracy.
- Support the integration of new and previously operated aircraft.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager Aircraft Systems Engineering.
- Develop product improvement modifications as directed by Reliability Indicators.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7-9 years in an applied engineering setting.
- 5-12 years Airline/Aircraft Systems Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in an Engineering discipline or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of Aircraft Systems and components design.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in an airline environment.
- Ability and passion to bring vision and innovation to the engineering function.
- Effective collaboration skills and strategy development with peers and senior leaders.
- Strict adherence to meeting scheduling deadlines and holding individuals accountable to meet customer requirements.
- Other Abilities:
- Takes initiative, Sense of Ownership, Passion, Positive attitude.
- Strong organization skills
- Very strong problem analysis and solution skills in dealing with complex technical issues.
Compensation
- $86,500 - $117,000 USD
