About the role

  • Work across Product, Engineering, and Data as a full participant in sprint and discovery workflows
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously across different product areas
  • Comfortable operating across multiple product areas and workstreams simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Design features that improve how clinicians discover, use, and return to MDCalc
  • Contribute UX thinking early in the product process, from problem framing through interaction design and final specs
  • Support the design of commercial-facing surfaces including ad placements, campaign-adjacent UI, and client-facing tooling where UX intersects with revenue
  • Contribute to and maintain MDCalc's design system, ensuring components are consistent, accessible, and well-documented
  • Partner with Engineering to close the gap between design specs and implementation, and flag drift when it occurs
  • Participate in user research sessions - contributing to discussion guides, observing sessions, and synthesizing findings into design decisions
  • Use behavioral data and usability feedback to identify friction and drive iteration post-launch
  • Communicate design rationale clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • 3-5 years of UX design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work
  • Experience contributing to or working within a design system

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Figma (and ideally component-level proficiency)
