Responsibilities
- Availity partners with various organizations, both locally and nationally, to raise awareness, funds and morale as our staff members volunteer their time and funds to engage the organizations campaign.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proficiency with AWS required.
- Experience managing large fleets of AWS RDS and Aurora databases in active production systems.
- Experience with SQL query language required.
- Strong understanding of database security practices and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, PCI DSS).
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
- When required by state law or federal regulation, Availity uses I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification in conjunction with E-Verify to determine employment eligibility.
- 4+ years of experience in database administration. Postgres and MySQL experience required. Oracle and MS SQL Server experience preferred.
- Experience with SQL query language required. NoSQL experience would be nice.
- Scripting skills (e.g. Python, Terraform) for automation and DevOps support. Experience with Lambda is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty).
Nice to have
- 4+ years of experience in database administration.

- Experience with Lambda is a plus.
Skills
- Ensure database performance, security, and availability.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
- Stay current with advancements in cloud database technologies and healthcare data regulations.
