Think you've got what it takes to keep a city moving? 🚧 Our Public Works team is looking for a full-time Streets Worker to help maintain and repair Aurora's streets year-round.
Operates and maintains specialized hand and power tools, vehicles, and equipment such as jack hammer, plate and jumping compactors, single axle dump trucks with plow and sander, spot patch/pothole truck.
Perform snow and ice control operations to include working with operators from other departments.
Performs additional duties as assigned
The city of Aurora will implement furlough days (unpaid days off) for most employees in 2026.

Colorado CDL, a proficiency Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Commercial Driver's License pre/post trip inspection will be conducted to include drive demonstration with our trucks when hired.
Applicants selected for safety-sensitive positions are required to complete and pass a drug screening as a condition of employment.

Prefer experience in public works functions to include power tools and/or light equipment operation.
Application of materials per operation to environmental standards
Supportive team player with a positive attitude and ability to adapt to change.

Construction/trade skills.
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
Skilled in the operation light to medium equipment
Understand oral and written instructions.
Operate various types of maintenance and construction equipment.
Ability to respond to an emergency call within 30 minutes.
Strong commitment to safety.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
Colorado R Driver's License, or Class A or B CDL
Ability to obtain Colorado Class B CDL within 6 months if non-CDL.
Must obtain ATSSA Colorado Flagger Certification within six (6) months of employment.
Must obtain RTD On-Track Safety Training Certification within six (6) months of employment.
