About the role
- This leader will serve as the primary owner of commercial power supply relationships, ensuring capacity, cost, and reliability targets are met.
- Evaluate power supply options, including utility service agreements, market purchases, and long-term contracts.
- Track market conditions and recommend procurement approaches that balance cost and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the strategy for power supply agreements across the data center portfolio.
- Develop financial models and analytics documents to support energy sourcing decisions.
- Partner with Legal and Finance to structure and finalize agreements.
- Manage ongoing supplier relationships and monitor agreement performance and compliance.
- Lead and develop a team of engineers and analysts supporting power supply agreement analysis.
- Set priorities and manage workload across an aggressive project pipeline.
- Partner with Development, Finance, and Utility Development teams to align supply agreements with project timelines.
- Support due diligence for new site selection based on power supply availability and cost.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Finance, or a related field.
- 8-12+ years of experience in power supply agreements, energy procurement, or utility commercial negotiations.
- Strong ability to interpret utility tariffs, produce rate calculations, and analyze overall power costs.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Energy, or a related field.
