Responsibilities
- Drives, operates and maintains specialized vehicles, power equipment, tools and other solid waste collection equipment including hand-operated hydraulic controls to lift and load refuse, following all safety regulations and procedures.
- Performs complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection according to division guidelines; identifies and reports mechanical problems requiring additional repair.
- Performs traffic control activities as needed, reports safety hazards and traffic problems.
- Consistently and reliably supports the Solid Waste and Recycling team, division objectives, and goals
Requirements
- Completes required daily logs and reports.
- Demonstrates proficiency in completing daily logs and reports
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
- Demonstrates proficiency in safely and efficiently operating assigned vehicle type
- Demonstrates proficiency in the proper, safe, and efficient operation of at least two different collection vehicles in the Solid Waste and Recycling Division
- Demonstrates proficiency in the proper, safe, and efficient operation of a minimum of five of the six types of collection vehicles in the Solid Waste and Recycling Division
