About the role

  • We are seeking an exceptional Director of Communications to join our Marketing team.
  • This role will report to the Chief Marketing Officer.
  • This role will be based in our New York City office (in the Financial District).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that drives improved brand awareness, accelerates go-to-market efforts, and supports talent acquisition efforts
  • Lead all corporate reputation efforts, including media relations, crisis management, and the positioning of executive leadership as industry thought leaders
  • Define and track key performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of communication channels and continuously optimize Garner's brand presence and share of voice
  • Partner with our People/HR function to oversee internal communications programs that keep Garner's employees informed and engaged as the company grows rapidly
  • Partner with Finance and Legal teams to support investor relations

Requirements

  • You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Compensation

  • The base salary range for this position is $230,000 - $260,000.
  • Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws.
  • In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k) with company match, flexible spending accounts, Teladoc Health and more.

  • Build compelling narratives that allow Garner to target key audiences, including employers, benefits brokers and consultants, health plans, healthcare providers, and talent
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications or PR, with at least 4+ years in a senior leadership role within the healthcare or tech sectors
  • A robust portfolio of established relationships with Tier-1 business, technology, and/or healthcare trade journalists and influencers
  • An understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, including industry trends/dynamics and knowledge of the major players, is preferred
