Responsibilities

  • SSC Advisors is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting and Payroll Specialist to support the firm's internal accounting and financial operations.
  • Operational Support Assists with accounts payable and other accounting functions as needed.
  • Collaborate with administrative, HR, and leadership teams on special projects.
  • Position Summary SSC Advisors is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting and Payroll Specialist to support the firm's internal accounting and financial operations.
  • Maintains payroll records and employee compensation data.
  • Supports year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and reporting.
  • General Ledger Accounting Maintains accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation.
  • Supports budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis.
  • Maintains financial reporting schedules and work papers.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee and financial information.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience processing payroll within an HRIS/payroll system environment.
  • Experience working with accounting software and general ledger systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience with payroll tax reporting and compliance.
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting software.
  • Knowledge of Intacct and BambooHR.
  • This individual must be comfortable managing confidential information, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with team members across multiple departments.

Nice to have

  • Preferred Experience in a professional services or public accounting environment.

  • Benefit Administration · Administer and manage employee benefit programs, including new hire enrollments, annual open enrollment, and qualifying life event changes.
  • Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
