About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer at Prime Robotics, you'll own meaningful pieces of our next-generation robotic control systems end-to-end - from design through production.
We're looking for an engineer who takes ownership of difficult problems, drives them through to completion without close supervision, and has the technical depth to unblock work others cannot.
You'll use your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and distributed system design to build scalable APIs, resolve longstanding technical challenges, and raise the technical bar of the team around you.

Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient APIs to support Prime Robotics' next-generation control system for robotic operations.
Deliver high-quality code that meets stringent performance benchmarks and security standards.
Over the next 6 months, lead efforts to assess and implement software optimizations that enhance the performance of robotic systems.
Develop algorithms that improve processing speed and reduce error rates.
Document the process improvements and present findings to the team during monthly innovation meetings.
Regularly participate in meetings across time zones with international colleagues to synchronize project efforts and maintain momentum.
By the end of the first quarter, establish a mentorship cadence for junior developers focused on ownership habits, system design, and engineering rigor - not just syntax.

You also act as second-level support for customer escalations where engineering depth is required.
Invaluable hands-on experience with cutting-edge robotics technology that keeps your skills at the industry forefront.

Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership on emerging trends in robotics software and industry best practices.
Within the first year, identify and advocate for the adoption of at least two new technologies that can enhance our software stack, positioning Prime Robotics as an industry leader in automation solutions.

$140,000-$180,000, depending on factors such as the candidate's experience, education, training, key or critical skills, and current market and business conditions.
