To be considered for this internship, the candidate must be currently serving in the United States military, be eligible for the SkillBridge program, seeking an associate, bachelor, or master's degree in cybersecurity, computer engineering, or a related discipline, and have had exposure to core information security functions, including network and application vulnerability testing, role-based access control (RBAC), security information and event management, and/or computer incident management. To be successful, a candidate should be proficient in Linux and Windows, and have at least two years of information technology experience and exposure to three or more of the following security technologies:
  • Cybersecurity interns are provided with a laptop computer, docking station, monitors, keyboard and mouse, camera, and headset for remote working. Most hands-on instruction and on-the-job training are delivered using Microsoft Teams, although the opportunity for interacting on-site may also be provided. Interns must have a home office environment and sufficient Internet connectivity to enable remote work.
  • Interns can successfully perform the skills described in the training with minimal assistance. Evaluations are provided as either "Satisfactory" or "Unsatisfactory".

Skills

  • Certified in Sec+, CCP, CCA or equivalent
  • Experience with NIST SP 800-171, SP 800-53, CSF, or RMF
  • Experience with Azure, GCC, GCC-High
  • Knowledgeable in firewalls, malware protection, and IPS
  • Knowledgeable in network vulnerability testing
  • Knowledgeable with encryption technologies (e.g., IPSec, SSL)
  • Knowledgeable with home office environments and Internet connectivity to enable remote work from home
  • Interns must have a home office environment and sufficient Internet connectivity to enable remote work.
  • Evaluations are provided as either "Satisfactory" or "Unsatisfactory".
