About the role
- KBR is seeking a motivated Full Stack Software Engineer with a strong interest in Go (Golang) development to support the design, development, and sustainment of the GEMSTONE platform.
- The ideal candidate enjoys building scalable microservices, modern web applications, and cloud-native software solutions while working in an Agile, mission-focused environment.
- The Full Stack Software Engineer will develop and maintain backend services that support core GEMSTONE capabilities including service discovery, API management, digital artifact publication, workflow orchestration, identity integration, data access, and platform operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack software capabilities supporting GEMSTONE platform services.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services primarily using Go (Golang).
- Build and maintain RESTful, gRPC, GraphQL, and event-driven APIs.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of GEMSTONE's API management platform and service architecture.
- Support development of microservices deployed within Kubernetes environments.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, design reviews, code reviews, and sprint demonstrations.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software release activities.
- Collaborate with platform engineers, cybersecurity engineers, product owners, and government stakeholders.
- Develop technical documentation and architecture artifacts.
- Experience building cloud-native microservices.
Requirements
- Ability to learn complex software ecosystems and rapidly become proficient in new platforms and technologies.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 1-5 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience with Go (Golang) in a professional or established open-source setting.
- Strong understanding of Goroutines and idiomatic design patters in Go.
- Experience with one or more modern programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Experience with JSON, HTTP, REST, OpenAPI, and related API technologies.
- Experience using Git-based source control systems and collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with containerized application development using Docker or similar technologies.
