About the role
- The Optometry Assistant plays a key role in supporting a seamless experience for patients by working closely with the Optometrist.
- The Assistant is the first person to engage patients and upkeep the back-end of the program.
- Initiates the eye care experience by greeting patients warmly
Responsibilities
- Manages insurance authorizations/billing and patient communication
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of employment in customer service related position

- Proven organizational skills, great interpersonal skills, and ability to work as a key team member
- Willingness to work with constantly changing technologies
- Physical Job Requirements
- May require standing, walking and sitting for extended amounts of time.
- Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Includes full range of body motion including potential of handling and lifting patients.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
