About the role

  • The Network Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing our network engineering team.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following.

Responsibilities

  • This role involves managing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, drive innovation and lead strategic initiatives to support business objectives.
  • Plan, design, and execute network infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and optimizations to improve performance and reliability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in network engineering, with a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure in an ISP environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security ( e.g, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs).
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware and software from Vendors like Cisco, Juniper, and Arista.
  • Hands-on experience with SD-WAN and network automation
  • Knowledge of Internet Governance and Policy (e.g. IRR, RIR, RPKI)
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Nice to have

  • Data Center Experience
  • Ansible and/or NetDevOps experience
  • Relevant network engineering certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, or equivalent certifications in DDoS mitigation platforms.
  • Service provider experience, preferably in a Data Center environment.
  • Advanced skill level with Cisco iOS, iOS-XR, and/or Nexus OS (NX-OS)
  • Ability to work well within a team environment in a matrixed organization.
