About the role

  • This candidate will be able to communicate effectively and professionally with both guests and colleagues, respond to requests in a timely manner, and assist in achieving the Departmental and Hotel goals.
  • Starting Rate: $$38.14 per hour based on experience & certifications as of September 1st, 2026.
  • The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain the hotel's mechanical and environmental systems in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor corrective repairs on hotel equipment and building systems.
  • Complete work orders accurately and maintain equipment records through the hotel's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and other hotel departments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • Alberta Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate is required.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during emergency situations.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Monitor water treatment programs and perform required testing for boilers, chilled water, and cooling tower systems.
  • Be available to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-outs as required.

  • Job Duties Include:
  • Reporting to the Lead Hand Property Engineer, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Conduct routine plant rounds and record equipment operating conditions.
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC, refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Respond promptly to guest room, public area, and operational maintenance requests while minimizing guest disruption.
