About the role

  • The University of Nevada, Reno seeks a Business Librarian to serve as liaison to the College of Business, the Department of Criminal Justice, and the Judicial Studies program.
  • This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position.
  • The Libraries value excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong service orientation, a willingness to experiment with new methods and technologies, an openness to change, and a collaborative approach to meeting user needs.

Responsibilities

  • Located in the Libraries' Research and Instructional Services department, this tenure-track position will collaborate on initiatives related to outreach, research help services, scholarly communications support, assessment, and others.
  • Design and conduct curriculum-integrated instructional sessions in the liaison areas both in person and online, in consultation with faculty regarding their teaching objectives.
  • Oversee library collections in the liaison areas, respond to faculty and student requests for library materials, and collaborate with other library departments on collections-related issues.
  • Mountain EAP supports employees (and eligible dependents) through life's difficult moments. Mountain EAP is located in Reno and specializes in counseling and advising services for personal or interpersonal issues.
  • We offer a dual career assistance program to newly hired faculty spouses/partners that provides resources and assists them to identify career opportunities in Northern Nevada.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience in a library or instruction setting or an advanced degree in one of the liaison areas
  • Final applications must be submitted prior to the close of the recruitment.
  • Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.

  • Experience planning and delivering library services and/or information literacy instruction
