  • This Officer position is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise strategy for Data Science and Actuarial Data Products.

Responsibilities

  • Drives implementation of strategic and operational objectives with significant impact on the short-term success of data modeling for a product line(s) or segment(s) and moderate impact on the long-term success of the company.
  • Leads, directs and has full management responsibility for staff in areas of responsibility with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
  • Collaborates with business partners in Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting and other internal departments to ensure the achievement of continued profitability and/or growth objectives for product lines or segments.
  • Drives the development, implementation and continuous planning, organizing and leading data modeling programs/initiatives, metrics, processes and results.
  • Acts as a liaison to executive management on critical business issues and drives corporate priorities with product lines or segments.
  • Partners with appropriate leadership to determine course of action and develops and executes plans to meet objectives.
  • Provides support during business strategy planning process.
  • Creates a culture of ownership and accountability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Advanced communication skills which are critical to building consensus across area of influence (external and/or internal relationships), team and/or matrix environment.
  • Ability to drive results by identifying and resolving significant problems within scope of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with Master's preferred in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science or equivalent.
  • Typically a minimum of 12 years of related experience in designing, developing, deploying and maintaining data/predictive models in a business setting or equivalent experience with seven years of management experience.

Compensation

  • I n certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role.
