About the role
- As a Project Engineer on the Rail Water Resources team, you will provide various engineering and project management duties.
- You will assist with gathering survey data, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and modelling, prepare technical reports, and review CAD drawings.
- You will assist with obtaining local, state, and federal permits for water resources related projects that impact regulated floodplains and various drainage districts.
Responsibilities
- Prepare project documents and ensure work aligns with scope, schedule, and budget
- Independently develop new techniques, coordinate with Olsson teams, and guide others on design tasks
- Collaborate with project managers to report progress and identify challenges
- Maintain project and client information in the firm's project management system
Requirements
- You are passionate about:
- Applying your working knowledge of applicable requirements and regulations
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
- 4 years or more of water resources engineering experience
- Experience with floodplain management, including permitting coordination with local, state, and federal agencies
Nice to have
- Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, master planning, stream restoration is a plus

- Professional engineering license (PE)
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or other related hydrologic and hydraulic software is preferred.
