About the role
- The position includes secondary duties within the athletic department.
- The football program is a member of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III and the Liberty League.
- Union College sponsors 27 intercollegiate sports, 25 in Division III, with Ice Hockey competing at Division I.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Head Football Coach organizes, develops, and leads a highly competitive Division III football program in support of the mission and core values of Union College.
Requirements
- Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of federal, state, local, and NCAA, rules, policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Must possess or obtain a valid New York State driver's license.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including attention to detail.
- Effective computer skills for recruiting and game analysis software.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to exercise exceptional judgment, ensure strict confidentiality, and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of situations.
- Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow professionals.
Nice to have
- Defensive coaching experience of the DB, LB, or Safety positions and/or playing experience at the college level preferred.
- The expected hourly rate for this position is $16.50.

Compensation
- The expected hourly rate for this position is $16.50.
- Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
