About the role

Definition & Purpose Under the supervision of the Assistant Director—Recreational Programs and Facility Operations, the Intermittent Lifeguard is responsible for the supervision of PEAC Pool and pool area during recreational swimming hours and fitness and instructional program hours. General responsibilities are to ensure that a safe and enjoyable
environment is maintained. Lifeguards are also responsible for opening and securing pool facilities. This position is based at the Cal Poly Maritime Academy on the Cal Poly Solano Campus in Vallejo, CA.

Title 22 First Aid or EMT certification is preferred.
Previous lifeguard experience preferred.
Ability to be highly organized and have good planning skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with a wide range of populations.

$17.40 per hour - $17.40 per hour Benefits Social Security (FICA) Unemployment Insurance Workers Compensation Insurance Sick Leave **Intermittent employees may not work more than 1,000 hours during any fiscal year (7/1-6/30) and are hired on an "as needed" basis only.

Position may require early morning, late night, weekend, and holiday work availability.
