Responsibilities
- Use mobile tablet to receive, document and close out excavation notices.
- Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and maintain professional appearance.
- Perform work in all weather conditions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the c ity, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.
- Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
- Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 50 pounds.
- Must be able to ride in a vehicle for up to four hours to travel to and from job sites.
- Must be able to work in different temperatures and changing weather conditions.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather
- Must have flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the business.
- Applicants selected for safety-sensitive positions are required to complete and pass a drug screening as a condition of employment.
Nice to have
- One year of utility locate experience.
- G eneral knowledge of state and local damage prevention regulations.
- Knowledge of safety measures relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Abilities:
- Successfully complete City of Aurora's training program and pass applicable written and field tests.
- Possesses attention to detail.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of basic locating concepts and a basic understanding of the water distribution system.
- Read and interpret utility maps and utility records.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of the One Call System rules and regulations.
- Read and interpret locate ticket request.
- Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Colorado driver's license with a good driving history.
