About the role

  • This job is to be responsible for assisting patients with general mobility tasks as assigned by clinical staff.
  • The mobility technician assists patients in performing mobility tasks, exercises and functional activities as assigned by clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Gather patient information prior to treatment sessions according to the Progressive Mobility Protocol (PMP) and document in EPIC.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the interprofessional team regarding patients' response to delegated activities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient care procedures performed.

Requirements

  • Required - None.
  • Required - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Ability to function as a team member, responding willingly and positively to colleagues' needs for assistance and partnership in patient motility.
  • Ability to promote a positive work environment with the intraprofessional care team.
  • Ability to problem solve, assists other staff, transporters, and patient care technicians with mobility, while managing several ongoing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.

Nice to have

  • Preferred - High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of Patient Care Assistant/Nursing Assistant work experience in acute care hospital, long-term acute care hospital, or equivalent.
