About the role

  • Use coaching framework, assess the student's stage of development (academic, career, and personal) and promote student growth by determining suitable developmental tasks; assist student in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals.
  • Advise students regarding course content, course selection, prerequisites, curriculum changes, recommended credit load, and curriculum planning to ensure timely graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the staff and faculty on providing direct student and career-related support to program students.
  • Interpret and explain college policies and procedures; manage student communication regarding program policy changes and curriculum updates.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers to support the development of internships, career opportunities and assess future hiring needs.
  • Maintain and enter student data, tracking student's interactions and academic/career plans; analyze and prepare reports for retention, tracking and accountability.
  • Collaborate with staff and faculty to provide comprehensive academic and career advising services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Extended Sitting: Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or attending meetings
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the campus to attend meetings and events
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, tools, or controls.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in advising and career assessment is preferred.
