About the role
- This position ensures that drug purchasing activities results in safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
- The Pharmacy Purchasing Coordinator has coordination, leadership, and stocking duties in the pharmacy department and must demonstrate excellent interdisciplinary communication and leadership skills.
- Serves as a role model and facilitates a professional customer-focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Performs all duties under the supervision of a pharmacist licensed in the State of Kansas. Works with pharmacy administration to comply with state and federal laws as well as other regulations.
- Monitor for current or potential medication shortages and implement actions to mitigate in collaboration with Pharmacy leadership.
- Assesses and maintains organization of medication inventory to comply with The Joint Commission standards, state and federal regulations.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
Skills
- High School Graduate
- Bachelors Degree
- 2 or more years experience as a pharmacy technician in a large hospital setting that offers comprehensive pharmacy services
- Experience in pharmacy purchasing
- Pharmacy Technician Registration
- State Board of Pharmacy
