About the role

This position ensures that drug purchasing activities results in safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
The Pharmacy Purchasing Coordinator has coordination, leadership, and stocking duties in the pharmacy department and must demonstrate excellent interdisciplinary communication and leadership skills.
Serves as a role model and facilitates a professional customer-focused approach.

Performs all duties under the supervision of a pharmacist licensed in the State of Kansas. Works with pharmacy administration to comply with state and federal laws as well as other regulations.
Monitor for current or potential medication shortages and implement actions to mitigate in collaboration with Pharmacy leadership.
Assesses and maintains organization of medication inventory to comply with The Joint Commission standards, state and federal regulations.

Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
Other duties may be assigned as required.

High School Graduate
Bachelors Degree
2 or more years experience as a pharmacy technician in a large hospital setting that offers comprehensive pharmacy services
Experience in pharmacy purchasing
Pharmacy Technician Registration
State Board of Pharmacy
