Responsibilities
- Engineer and develop database platforms across large database estates, including Sybase, DB2, and newer database technologies.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization, including query tuning, indexing strategies, workload analysis, and capacity planning.
- Design, test, and implement database changes with a strong focus on resiliency, quality, and operational stability.
- Support and participate in database platform migration and modernization initiatives, including movement toward Snowflake and/or SingleStore where applicable.
- Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced Agile environment, balancing rapid delivery with strong governance and platform reliability.
Requirements
- Intermediate knowledge of development and performance optimization across major RDBMS technologies, especially Sybase and DB2.
- Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment with strong attention to quality, stability, and delivery timelines.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Knowledge of data replication concepts and technologies, including CDC, transactional replication, and streaming-based patterns.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
