About the role
- As an Engineering Manager at ParentSquare, you'll balance leading and mentoring a talented team of engineers with staying close to the technology itself.
- Hands-on Contribution: Act as an active member of your team, performing development or technical tasks, reviewing code, and contributing directly to the ecosystem.
- AI & Automation Forward: Strong familiarity with or passion for agentic coding practices.
Responsibilities
- Own performance management, coaching, and career growth for a diverse team of engineers, ensuring high expectations for execution and professional growth are met.
- Build and lead your team to execute each sprint effectively, streamlining processes to ensure the right prioritization, urgency, and delivery.

Requirements
- Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- 3+ years of experience in direct people and team management, with a proven track record of mentoring junior developers and managing stakeholders.
Nice to have
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in either backend software development (Ruby on Rails preferred) or cloud systems/infrastructure engineering.
- Technical Background: 5+ years of hands-on experience in either backend software development (Ruby on Rails preferred) or cloud systems/infrastructure engineering.
Skills
- Proficiency with version control using Git.
