About the role
- The Maintenance Technician also provides recommendations to leadership on policy matters, technical issues, and other complex or unusual problems requiring additional guidance or decision-making.
- Diagnose equipment issues; replace or repair defective parts; and test and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Identify and report faulty equipment operation, defective materials and other unusual conditions to leadership in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and repair production machinery and facility equipment, performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance duties.
Requirements
- 1+ year of related experience required, preferrably in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, sketches, blueprints and work orders.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts (JLGs), or obtain required certifications.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment in resolving problems.
- Proficiency in the safe use of a variety of hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email, maintenance systems and other business software as required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate successfully with employees, leaders, and external partners.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Nice to have
- High School Diploma or GED required
- completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred.
