About the role
- As a Senior Equipment Engineering Technician (Etch) within our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing plasma etch systems that are essential to our waveguide manufacturing process.
- This is a highly hands-on role focused on maximizing tool uptime, resolving complex failures, and driving performance improvements in a cleanroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on plasma etch systems (Plasma-Therm or similar dry etch tools)
- Support tool recovery and uptime efforts, minimizing downtime in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Partner with Process and Equipment Engineers on tool optimization, experiments, and process stability improvements
- develop SOPs and technical documentation
Requirements
- Direct experience with plasma etch systems (Plasma-Therm, Lam, Applied Materials, or similar)
- Strong understanding of vacuum systems, RF / plasma systems, gas delivery, and process tool integration
- Experience with PLC systems, sensors, alarms, and system-level diagnostics
- Experience with RF matching networks, mass flow controllers (MFCs), and vacuum pumps (turbo/roughing)
