About the role

  • About the Position The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for assisting the Physical Therapist in patient instruction and data collection.
  • This is an on-site position assigned to the Desmond T Doss Health Clinic at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.
  • The trial will compare the effectiveness of early vs. delayed postoperative physical therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Make recommendations regarding the use or adjustment of braces, prostheses, and other related appliances used to support and assist the mobility of the study subjects
  • Maintain a collaborative research environment between the Principal Investigator (PI), other site personnel, research participants, The Geneva Foundation and the funding organization
  • Document all correspondence and communication pertinent to the research
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of all research records
  • Perform duties necessary to comply with and implement research study protocol

Requirements

  • Associates degree required from an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Must be a certified Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Familiarity with the function of instrument motion analysis is required
  • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office Software including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of clinical or general research techniques is required
  • A thorough government background check will be required.

Nice to have

  • 1-3 years' experience in physical therapy preferred, with some experience in orthopedics
  • Experience with amputee care a plus

Compensation

  • Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00/HOUR
