About the role
- About the Position The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for assisting the Physical Therapist in patient instruction and data collection.
- This is an on-site position assigned to the Desmond T Doss Health Clinic at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.
- The trial will compare the effectiveness of early vs. delayed postoperative physical therapy.
Responsibilities
- Make recommendations regarding the use or adjustment of braces, prostheses, and other related appliances used to support and assist the mobility of the study subjects
- Maintain a collaborative research environment between the Principal Investigator (PI), other site personnel, research participants, The Geneva Foundation and the funding organization
- Document all correspondence and communication pertinent to the research
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of all research records
- Perform duties necessary to comply with and implement research study protocol
Requirements
- Associates degree required from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Must be a certified Physical Therapy Assistant
- Familiarity with the function of instrument motion analysis is required
- Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
- Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office Software including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of clinical or general research techniques is required
- A thorough government background check will be required.
Nice to have
- 1-3 years' experience in physical therapy preferred, with some experience in orthopedics
- Experience with amputee care a plus
Compensation
- Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00/HOUR
