About the role
- Psychiatrist Adult & Teen Challenge of Arkansas is seeking a licensed and compassionate Psychiatrist to provide part-time psychiatric care to our clients within a faith-based recovery program.
- The position requires availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with potential for additional weekday hours as needed.
Responsibilities
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices in psychiatric and addiction medicine.
- Uses the Master Treatment Plan to develop activities to use with clients approved for OBHS services.
- This role involves conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing medication regimens, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to support the mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our clients.
Requirements
- DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances.
- Must have and maintain a valid state ID- to navigate and use the company EHR.
- Must be able to pass drug and nicotine test
- Hold/Receive required certifications within the predetermined time limits established by the State of Arkansas.
- Provides timely documentation to support services rendered and provides written reports as required by other agencies (i.e. DCFS, legal system, etc.).
- Attends all required clinic meetings.
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry.

- Communicate compassionately and effectively with clients, health care professionals, and the public.
- Effective documentation skills
- Demonstrates sound diagnostic judgment and clinical decision-making in psychiatric care.
- Proficient in prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.
- Understands the complexities of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Willing to incorporate spiritual considerations into treatment when appropriate.
